Who Are We? We are a neighborhood coalition of citizens, business people, corporations and institutions united by a common concern that Mayor Bloomberg's intention to build a major garbage-processing facility on the site of the 91st Street Marine Transfer Station threatens the quality of life and the health of those who live in its vicinity. We also share in common the conviction that all of New York City will suffer if the creation this facility blights one of its most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods, home to families, schools, and Gracie Mansion as well as a beautiful riverside park. It is our purpose to prevent the construction of the new garbage-processing facility in our neighborhood or the reopening of the existing facility.
